Legislation aside, you have to wonder what political edge a candidate can hope to achieve by loudly proclaiming that he’s going to follow his opponent’s lead. It doesn’t exactly scream “visionary,” now does it?

Wait a minute. I thought the republicans were the party of states rights. I guess that only refers to issues of race and sexual preference. Anything about racial and gender equality, guns, God, and gays should be legislated by the federal government. Just can’t trust those pesky state legislatures, especially in the north.
