I was driving on 71 northbound right before the King’s Island exit when I saw this bizarre boxshaped truck that appeared to be made out of plywood driving in the slow lane. All over it were anti abortion messages and pictures. Mrs. Editor has sited several of them last week during her lunch hour. One of the pictures she saw was of a little babies hand reaching out of a woman’s bloody cut open stomach. Really gruesome stuff.
Did anyone else catch them? I’d love to get some pictures.
I expect to see more and more bizarre stuff like this with the cascade failure of the right.

That should win them a lot of support…. Larry Flint should be told about this medium. What, you don’t want your kids to see sex and violence? Or should I ask, you want to be able to CHOOSE what your kids see on public roads?
BTW: At the Clermont County Fair they were giving away fetus dolls.

I was at a festival when my kids were in early elementary school. OK, it was at a big church and they had kids’ carnival rides etc, so it was clearly a family kind of weekend festival. They had this anti abortion booth by all the craft booths but on the main walkway with lots of traffic. My kids were so grossed out by the pictures and I thought it was inappropriate to have such graphic large pictures out front. Little kids don’t get it, they just see gore. I thought it was senseless and a bad tactic. I highly doubt these tactics change anyone’s mind but I think they do it to rev up the base. This is all they have now since the gay issue is not working like it used to and the Black voter suppression thing is being investigated. Everything else they have is not working, so I think they are going to up the ante with these anti abortion stunts.
I read two things recently on different blogs. One was statements from different doctors who work in planned parenthood clinics around the country. They said they have treated many women who either have walked the picket lines in front or they bring their daughters or who are anti choice but feel they are different from the other women there. Their reason for abortion is valid and different from all the other women.
The other was about a video someone shot at clinic protests asking the picketers if abortion should be a crime. They all answered yes and so he asked what the punishment should be. These people had never given that a thought and really didn’t think there should be any prison time. What these two pieces show is the disconnect that the base has. They want to control others’ morality but when it comes to them, it’s different. They want to legislate against what they consider sin, not what is generally considered a crime. Prohibition was a huge failure and led to a lot of other problems. Drinking wasn’t a crime but in some peoples’ view it was a sin. When abortion was illegal, it didn’t stop women from terminating pregnancy with high risks to their health.
EE – is it Schmidt’s local group from Cincinnati? If it is, it could go to the theory of revving up the base for the primary. That is her only constituency that I can see supporting her in the primary.
This is just gross. I dont go to horror movies for a reason and to walk outside on my lunch break to this kind of view???

I agree these images are obscene but I think there was a court case where a woman was driving her children and a guy in another car was watching a pron video on the car’s flip down screen. Apparently, it’s legal. You have to wonder about a guy driving around in a car watching porn.
I wonder about people who devote considerable time and energy picketing in front of clinics. Do they volunteer with children, the poor etc? Have they taken in pregnant girls, gotten them medical care, etc? To they lobby their representatives to provide food, housing and medical for children?
Watching porn in the car is legal??….kewl.
We almost bought a mini van with with a dvd player…Mr E said I wasnt strong enough to resist the temptation. He’s probably right…LOL

What’s the big deal? Why is it obscene to show just a big blob of (aborted) tissue?
It’s no more obscene than a giant picture of a booger or a scab on someone’s knee.
What’s wrong with you people, calling yourselves pro-choice and then claiming a giant photo of tissue is “obscene.”
Why, that would imply that abortion is somehow obscene… we can’t have that. Come on, people! Stay the course! If you can’t stay “on message” about this stuff, then refer to your talking points.
