Paul Hackett formally endorsed Sherrod Brown today. It was great to finally see the two of them together. Connie Schultz and Suzi Hackett both seemed relieved that this was happening when I talked to them. They are the two people that I think have the best window on this whole drama.

The event started with an introduction from Cincinnati’s Mayor Mark Mallory. The whistling at the beginning is Paul getting everyone’s attention. All sounded in great form. I’ve missed covering candidate Paul. ~~I’m sorry for the audio quality. Yellow Dog Sammy is supposed to have better quality audio so I’ll link to that when I can.~~

This is more than about Paul. This is more than about Sherrod. We need to be greater than the baser elements of our natures. That’s what civilization is all about. Today felt very good.

One group that gets a lot of credit for all this is the Clermont County Dems, who have been fighting to make this happen for months.

BTW, the Enquirer talks about the swiftboating rumors. The person that I was told from several sources was spreading the rumors left the campaign after it became known. I’ve heard that he was fired but I’m not sure. It would have been good if Chuck Schumer and Harry Reid had nipped that story in the bud as soon as Paul compained about it to them back in December.

There are a lot of bad apples who work political campaigns. Karl Rove wannabies. Just got to keep a watch out for them. They do way more harm than good.

Hon, dont argue with those nuts at BFD….if you argue with a fool how will anyone know who is who??
Hackett and everyone in his campaign knows where you live. SB knows where you live. Wulsin knows where you live. Warren, Clermont, and adams co folks know where you live. Every blogger who has come down to the 2nd district for anything (including Eric) has always known where you live. Anyone reading this blog regularly knows. It is only an issue now because you got something they didnt. This is classic “Saved by the Bell”. You dont have to answer to anyone.

I think this blog is good at what it does, and that’s provide information about Ohio’s second district. I couldn’t care less where the guy writing it lives.

If blogging OH-02 from OH-03 makes you a fraud, then every Democrat who blogged the Republican Primary is also a fraud. None of them had any right to mention Ken Blackwell or Jim Petro, because they weren’t voting in that race.

For full discloser, since people are into that, I’m really Evil Editor too. There goes my last shread of legitimacy.

(Right now I’m onto Beethoven’s Missa Solemnis. A true monument of human achievement. The culmination of the western classical tradition. John Elliot Gardiner’s recording, as usual, is my fav, although I also really like Giulini’s with the Philharmonia. If that snaps me out of my funk I’ll try Ice Cube’s latest.)

I have to agree with Eric. I have been reading many blogs lately and this is BY FAR the most comprehensive OH - 02 coverage.

Both Right and Left are covered and bicker and discuss with flair unseen elsewhere.

Boy what a scoop, Editor doesn’t live in OH 02. And hey, Franco, the dictator of Spain, is dead.

I admire the fact that you take so much time and gasoline to cover the 2nd even though you don’t live here and that Mrs. Editor tolerates it. Do you think all the reporters at the Inquirer who cover Cincinnati live inside the city limits? If they don’t , how can they cover the city?

You have the best blog on Oh-2d by far, and one of the best anywhere, so where you live doesn’t matter one whit.

Mrs, I think you called it correctly above as “jealousy at its finest.” Those comment threads at BFD and Plunderbund were stinkin’ garbage, and just looking at them made me want to take a long hot shower and give up blogging forever. I’m not going to, but I sure don’t feel like having anything to do with certain folks in the blogosphere anymore.

Thanks Sammy, Please don’t quit blogging, you provide a very needed service. The time and effort you put in simply amazes me.

Thing I don’t get is how grown ass men seem to forget basic human nature. You want respect you give respect. You don’t get a home run by skipping 2nd and 3rd base fellas. You cant be surprised the dog runs away from you when you keep kicking it.

The unfortunate thing is a few bad apples ruin perfectly great ones if they stay in the same bowl too long. Many people still believe if you lay down with dogs you will wake up with fleas.

Hackett had some interesting things to say on the Ed Schultz Show yesterday. In addition to talking about Sherrod, Hackett mentioned how he was disappointed with Lieberman.
