Just in from the Sherrod Brown campaign:
Dear Chris,
Please join us for a MAJOR Democratic Party unity event supporting Congressman Sherrod Brown’s race for the U.S. Senate.
Join congressional candidates John Cranley and Victoria Wulsin and Democrats from across Southwest Ohio as U.S. Senate Candidate Sherrod Brown receives an important endorsement in his race against Mike DeWine.
Join us at 2:45 PM Monday, July 10, 2006 at Theodore M. Berry International Friendship Park at 1101 Eastern Avenue, Cincinnati.
Please don’t miss the opportunity to witness a great moment of the 2006 race!
The park is located just beyond the Montgomery Inn Boathouse. There is plenty of parking. We hope to see you there!
Sincerely,
Connie Schultz
BTW, the endorsement will come from Paul Hackett

I’ll believe it when I see it.
I can see it now…
“F*** Sherrod, but I’ll endorse him anyway.”
‘Bout time. Now let’s get all the Democratic candidates elected up and down the ticket.
While it is a nice thing to happen, an endorsement from Hackett does not carry the weight an endorsement from an ELECTED DEMOCRATIC official would.
For Sherrod it’s the most important endorsement in the world.
It may be but remember Paul is not running nor is he an elected official…Many Republicans will say he is a has-been, running second to Schmidt and pulled by the Dem leadership over Congressman Brown.
While his endorsement of CM Brown would definately be a good thing, how about high-ranking OH or Federal level Dems endorsing him too? That carries a LOT of weight.
This isn’t about Republicans. This is about getting Democrats to play off the same page. You can’t beat your opponent if your team is busy fighting each other.
True, Editor, VERY VERY true.
I am so ready for both side to be over this. It is time for EVERYONE to man up.
Well, I found out about this over at Big Orange–lots of rah rah donate to Sherrod. And then I checked out BSB, and found the link here.
I’ll be interested in hearing what Paul Hackett has to say. Presumably he’s feeling more positive about Brown than he did in May…
“So, I don’t know what I could do for him. I’ve never made any bones about it. Before I got out of the race, when I was in the primary, I don’t like him. I think he’s a putz–”
I’ll let you know what he says. I’ll be there.
A hot-headed Irishman apologized and said he would do whatever is necessary to help get Sherrod elected. He even hugged Connie.
Chris was there as was Yellow Dog Sammy, so I am sure we will get a podcast soon.
Hopefully Sammy picks up all the little details. Chris never gets the details.
On the Enquirer politics blog, Howard Wilkinson says that “world peace can not be far behind.”
