Great summary of the do nothing important Congress by Oliver Willis:
- Constitutional amendment to ban gay marriage: it failed
- Constitutional amendment to ban flag burning: it failed
- Spent 40 hours debating faulty, non-binding resolution on Iraq
- Repeal the estate tax to help out Paris Hilton and Bill Gates: delayed because they likely don’t have the votes
- Keeping “Under God” in the pledge of allegiance: it failed
Going forward:
- Banning Internet gambling (won’t pass)
- “Fetal pain” bill
- A bill to loosen restrictions so we have more guns on the street
What’s really sad is that they are failures at getting doing nothing important done.

It’s too bad that “Time Waster” Tom Brinkman didn’t get elected. He would have fit right in.

Brinkman is starting to reach the levels of Schmidt. I have to agree with most everyone…..he should focus on REAL legislation that would have a positive influence on Ohio, instead of legislating morality (which should be kept OUT of government and in the homes).

With regards to the do nothing congress….the voting public should focus on the activity and send that message to their Congressmen/women and Senators….sponsor and debate legislation that will improve this country, or we will VOTE YOU OUT!
This now puts the challengers on notice….get out there, make sure the voters SEE you , HEAR you, and understand what you stand for, and have CLEAR CONCISE ideas to address issues. GIVE THE VOTERS A REAL CHOICE.
The fall should be interesting!
