Things must be very pretty desperate if they’re resorting to this already. I guess disenfranchising voters only goes so far.
This is going to be one ugly election cycle. I expect that by October their heads will be spinning like tops as green bile spews out of their mouths. The key thing is to stay focused and not let ourselves be dragged down to their level.
UPDATE: The gang over @ BSB don’t think it’s a push poll. Their rational sounds right, although it spoils my effort at sensationalizing.

Yeah, you guys just stay focused and keep doing what you’ve been doing.
President Gore, President Kerry, and the Democratic Congress would expect no less.

I must confess that I have a hard time understanding most of your comments, Eric.

Re voter suppression - the new voter law takes full effect this November in Ohio. People need to be educated about the hurdles involved in voting. YOU WILL NEED I.D. Your voter registration card or S.S.I. card cannot be used for I.D. A driver’s license as long as your address is the same in the precinct list will do. A bill with your name and address will be ok. If you do not have valid I.D., you may get a provisional ballot and then have to get I.D. Blackwell wants to force provisional ballots on people because a high percentage of them get kicked out.
Obviously, this law is designed to hurt urban voters, the poor and homeless. The group who may get hurt and raise holy hell are the elderly who don’t drive and live in assisted living, nursing homes or retirement communities. The elderly vote in higher percentages that other age groups and they aren’t going to like this one bit.
Get ready for longer lines due to the I.D. requirement and the fill in the circle ballot. It takes longer than the punch card.
That said, voters can vote absentee without a reason. The Democrats should launch a massive absentee voter campaign. That’s where the future of elections in Ohio is at.
There seems to be some problem with voter registration drives with this new law so many groups are not going to be doing voter registration drives. Please check to see if you are registered (County Board of Elections websites have a way to check if you are registered). I think they are going to be purging the voter rolls this summer. It just seems like the Blackwell thing to do.

My guess is the polling activity is going to pick up this summer. The Republicans are trying to get a handle on the voters to see if they truely have something to worry about or not, to prepare for the onslaught of campaigns this fall.
Whenever I get these kinds of questions, I simply tell the pollster very nicely that I have no desire to participate and hang up. If they call back, I just ignore the call…..
