Ohio gubernatorial candidate, Rep. Ted Strickland endorsed Dr. Vic Wulsin this past Saturday in Portsmouth (Scioto County) and Piketon (Pike County). Traveling across the state as part of the “Turnaround Bus Tour,” Strickland gave a glowing endorsement to Wulsin. “Dr. Victoria Wulsin would do Southern Ohio proud by bringing back integrity, honesty, and real family values to Ohio’s 2nd Congressional district.”
As Strickland made his way to the podium, the crowd, led by Wulsin, chanted, “We want Ted! We want Ted!” - The enthusiasm reached a fever pitch when Ted took the mic and shouted, “We want Victoria for Congress in the second district!” Watch the video.
Wulsin’s platform, which emphasizes affordable healthcare and economic development via investing in alternative energy resonated with the supporters in attendance, many of them veterans and members of the local Laborers’ Union. “We will turn around Ohio by investing in innovation and education that will deliver 21st century jobs that pay living wages, provide good health care, and deliver promised pensions,” Wulsin said to a standing ovation. “We can make Ohio proud again,” she said.
The endorsement by Strickland, who, according to a recent poll, leads Ken Blackwell by 16 points, adds a considerable boost to the energy and focus of our campaign to unseat Jean Schmidt.
Full disclosure: I am currently a paid staffer for Dr. Victoria Wulsin. I first got my start in blogging as an early supporter of her candidacy in the special election primary last summer, which Paul Hackett ultimately won. In light of the recent discussion regarding the dubious ethics of some of the biggest liberal bloggers in the nation, I think it’s especially important to emphasize disclosure and transparency.

First, congratulations to Dr Wulsin on the endoresement.
Secondly, while it appears she is out there campaigning, we in Clermont county sure have not seen her or have heard from her? I am anxious to get to know her and her platform. I want to find the best fit for our district, and am not sure Schmidt is the person…but still do NOT know enough about Vic to lean left.
Any information of future events where Vic will be would be great news. It does not appear her web-site is up to date. I think that is doing a disservice to her.
And Ann; good luck working on Vic’s campaign. I know first hand working a campaign is very hard work…my best to you.

ModerateGOP,
Thank you for your interest and kind words. I’ve only been on the job two days, and I’m already flooded with work.
The new and improved website will likely be up by this Friday, and it will have a calendar of events, etc.

Dr. Wulsin has been involved in the human experiments with the Heimlich Institute, injecting malaria into African and Chinese AIDS patients.
If you ask, she’ll deny it. She has a story, how she was hired by the Heimlich Institute, wrote a report, suggested they stop malariotherapy experiments — and as a result got fired. I have her on tape saying just that.
But I also have the report she filed with the HI after studying malariotherapy. Sounds to me like she didn’t suggest they stop — instead, she suggested they just change the name to avoid more bad press.
I’m still working on putting the video and the letter together.

Dean,
Go after Heimlich if you want, and I’m glad you are. He deserves it. Vic Wulsin does not.

Strickland’s endorsement means nothing in this race. Even if you buy into the last poll, which is questionable, I don’t think anybody’s ever come up with results that show him leading in southwest Ohio.

Im not sure how much Strickland’s endorsement means either. I’m just glad she went out in public with something to say and had someone tell the story.

I’m just glad she is finally back on the radar.

Muffet, I agree. I hope she now STAYS on the radar. Time will tell…many folks think Schmidt is unbeatable in the district…so Vic is going to have to work as hard as she can getting her message out there. The votes are not party-line now. She is going to have to win over the folks on the Right side of the aisle. That is only done face to face and with good solid facts and ideas. AND MONEY…lots of money
I hope to see and hear her soon.

Jean Schmidt is NOT invincible in the 2nd District. And she knows it…

Some of the commentators seem unaware that Strickland is from Scioto County and is extremely popular in Scioto, Pike and Adams. That is why Vic chose to get the endorsement in the eastern part of the district. It was smart politics. In the eastern district, she can ride Strickland’s coat tails.
Now you folks in the western district need to figure out a commensurate strategy there.

Very well stated…
