This week Local 12 Newsmakers features Jean Schmidt and Bob McEwen. Looks like they snubbed Deborah Kraus.
I think that if there’s one mistake that McEwen is making in this race is that he’s not positioning himself so as to show any substantial difference between himself and Schmidt. That gives a huge advantage to the incumbant. Bush 43 was good at picking a few issues that were off the beaten path just enough to generate some contrasts. (Note that these have no relationship to his actions as President… luckily Republicans could care less what you actually do just as long as you say the right things.)
BTW, is anyone in the local Democratic Party recruiting Dan Hurley?

There is little meaningful difference between the two on “the issues.” The difference is we know what Schmidt has done while in congress and while in Columbus, and we have no earthly idea what Bob McEwen would really do once he got to Congress.
Of course, since we can’t get past “the issue” of whether Bob McEwen is even eligible to be a candidate or to have voted absentee as he did, what his positions are on “the issues” is irrelevant.
I have a Dan Hurley story for you someday if you’re in the mood.
Of course they Snubbed Deborah. The news media continues to report on the second district race as if Bob and Jean are the ONLY two running in the race. Deb has attended as many events as she could, participating in each event, yet gets very little coverage at all.
The one small spot in the Enquirer “endorsement” for Congresswoman Schmidt was nice.
However Deborah is not deterred. She continues to work on the campaign and is staying the course.
Hopefully on May 2nd the voters will realize there are other choices in the 2nd district and will cast their votes for Deborah.
I just saw a snippet of the Channel 12 interview.
I have to say I am glad Deborah wasn’t there….she probably would have walked out.
I hope everyone who sees this interview takes a good hard look at the candidates and then picks the correct choice for Washington.
We need to bring the Republican party back together…can we do that with this kind of crap?
