Anyone see this?
How did he do?
Alan,
I won’t speak for myself but I tell you what happened yesterday. I met with people from 4 television stations and one newspaper. I drove 300 miles and knocked on only 30 families’ doors. Time is becoming the most critical factor in this campaign right now… Today, I’ll try to make it to another 300 homes.
Anyhow, when I knocked on a family’s door in one of the 7 counties yesterday, the nice woman who answered the door said “I just saw you on the television. I agree with everything that you say”. I know that if I could get my message out to the more than 630,000 people who live in our Congressional District, I would win – Not only the primary, but also in November. Government would finally have a representative who comes from outside of politics. A representative who cares more about people’s problems than he will ever care about political campaigns.
If I don’t win, then I get my life back. And it is a good life. As a matter of fact, my life is so good that I just felt guilty and decided that I couldn’t just sit back and let this country go down the drain any more. Not without a fight. And, oh what a fight it has been… One of the people at one of the television stations told me yesterday that he thought that I had been doing this for a year… He sounds like my wife. And, if another of the 4 people in the Democratic primary wins, I will support them 100%. They are ALL good people and their hearts are in the right place. And any one of them would be a better representative for this country than Jean Schmidt.
But Alan, I do plan to win. 7 months and 22 days ago, I decided that if I was going to be truly committed to this ongoing fight for improvement in the lives of others, then the first thing that I had to do was decide to win. And then I decided to make this victory happen one person at a time. That’s how I have accomplished every achievemnt, built every personal relationship, and changed a small part of the world throughout my life and throughout my healthcare leadership career… One person at a time.
In case you are wondering, I will not be attending today’s straw poll event in Clermont County this morning. Although I will spend most of the day in Clermont County and will have the opportunity to speak tonight before a group of more than 1,000 people. But first, due to something big and unexpected that has suddenly come up, I have something that I have to do something else for the people of Southern Ohio this morning.
Have a great day!
Jim Parker
