The Cincinnati Right to Life Political Action Committee endorsement will be a big deal for Jeff Sinnard. Back in the special they refused to endorse anyone in the Democratic field because they had no legislative experience. Perhaps heading the Ohio Democratic Catholic Caucus helped him.
People might want to check out my initial special election report for more insights on Mr. Sinnard. One thing I like about what Jeff is doing now is talking about the 95-10 Initiative which is a great starting point for finding common ground.
Also, the Enquirer did a brief Q & A for all of the 2nd candidates. Check it out.

Editor . . . is this the first ‘organization’ to make a ‘real’ endorsement of a Dem in the 2nd CD?
Too bad Sinnard didn’t realize it takes $100K to win the primary. With the right training, he would be a viable candidate.
I am looking forward to the 2nd CD reports to see who IS viable.
Also, Editor, do you have any pics of Sinnard w/ beard and bad attire from early ’05?
LOL… yes, I do believe it is the first real endorsement.
Alan, I think you’re right about Jeff. Here’s all my pictures. Nothing like that.
One thing that’s really powerful about the 95/10 initiative is that it’s a wedge counter. I love Democrats exploring the use of wedge issues to divide the GOP’s base. But just as effective a tool as wedges are, anti-wedges are great ways to blundt Republican wedges. Abortion has been very damanging to Ohio politically. A Democrat who can find common ground and sell it to voters has forged himself a very effective coat of armor.
doesn’t sinnard work for the odp catholic caucus? his name is listed as the contact for press releases this year.
Yes. Didn’t I say that up there?

If you have an extra $100k lying around, send it my way. My friends and family don’t have that kind of money. Sorry, I am un-trainable.
You may be right about the money. I hope and pray that you are wrong. Politics should be about issues and positions and who best represents the values and needs of the voters. I guess we find out on May 2nd.
ROTFL
That’s one of the funniest things I’ve ever heard in a long time. What planet did you just arrive from, Jeff? (Planet Crack?)
I swear… politics is the only calling where people can fail over and over and over again, not learn a damn thing, keep coming back for more, and still be taken seriously.
We need like a political kids table where the idealistic wannabies can play at politics and not waste the adult’s time. Arm them with sporks and John Kerry position papers and let them have at it.
Jeff . . . finance laws do not allow me to donate $100K to your campaign, the maximum contribution is $2100. You have not even ask me for that. I would never expect you to personally commit that kind of $$ to your campaign. I would be more impressed if you got 100 people to give $1,000.
As I sit to wait on the OH-02 reports . . . that is MY focus . . . total # of contributors.
Thanks for the update Alan. That was tongue in cheek. I actually understand campaign finance.
I would be impressed if I got anyone to give $1,000. To the people I know $1,000 is a heck of a lot of money. It represents at least one months mortgage payment. Many people I know make minimum payments on their credit cards so as not to go in the red at the end of the month. We don’t have $1,000 in loose cash lying around to put toward anything but necessities. If you are looking for 100- $1,000 donations to be impressed, be prepared to be under whelmed. My friends, family and acquaintances work for a living.
Although I am supporting another candidate, I have nothing but respect for Jeff Sinnard. Jeff showed alot of courage and conviction when he shared his views on this issue in front of a very pro-choice group (and some even booed him). It’s a very polarizing subject and I look forward to the day that we can discuss it in a rational, intelligent way. (BTW, I am pro-choice, but morally conflicted on the issue).
