February 2006

I’ll be honest with you. I sick of this Hackett/Brown feud. I need closure, and I don’t see anyone in Columbus or Washington contributing anything productive to that effort. So here’s an idea:

Schedule a Meet the Bloggers event. Brown and Hackett. They sit down and they work this crap out and we work this crap out and we get over it. Sure, they are both pissed, and sure they may not like each other, but hell… they are two grown-assed men that belong to the same party and they can sit down and work this stuff out like adults.

I want Brown to win. I think he can win. Things were said. Yes, things were done. But they were all words and we can get beyond words. We need to get to the point of action, and we won’t get there by ripping each other apart. People are dying right now, gang. Their lives deserve better than this trifling farce.

Yes, we’re only talking about 15% tops of voters that know or even care about this issue. But that’s a huge slice that will do serious damage to Brown’s efforts and dog him throughout the campaign. We need resolution. We need to get this damn primary behind us.

Brown avoided MTB in the past. He can’t afford to any longer. There’s too much static. For some the wounds are too deep. With this we’ll be able to have a good clearing of the air and put this behind us.

Let me know what you think.

Well, I have to say that I’m not feeling it yet, but Mrs. E pointed out that I was cheating by talking about Paul’s stint on WLW. He’ll be on again today.

From 12:30 to 3PM today Paul will be guest hosting on the Bill Cunningham Show, WLW 700. Should be fun.

Dinner and dancing!

This is now the Ohio Happy Fun Time Blog. We’re going to blog about fun things like puppies and martinis and hammering nails up our noses and other fun things that have nothing to do with Ohio politics.

I want to thank my friend Evil Editor for volunteering to take over the blog for a while while I spend some time working though my issues. I know he can be a little rough at times, but BOY does he know how to have fun.

Consider this an open thread.

And the death spiral that is the Ohio Senate Primary continues.

Senator Schumer… reality on line one… hello??? Senator? Are you there???

It’s a good thing the SOBs hate DeWine so much or they would really be having fun right now.

The Fix’s running top ten list of in play House races has the Ohio 18th moving up to number five because of Bob Ney’s desire to go down swinging. Unfortunately Ted Strickland’s 6th has moved up to 2nd.

Sherrod Brown was on yesterday’s Ed Schultz Show, live from Cincinnati.

Despite being warned back in January that Bob McEwen’s special election claim of being endorsed by anti-choice crusader Dr. John Willke was no longer valid, the PD Opener blog is reporting that the false claim wasn’t removed until last Monday.
