Former Congressman turned high priced Beltway lobbyist Bob McEwen is famous for his neat appearance, earning him many nicknames along the way for his love of fancy suits and his ultra groomed hair helmet. It’s amazing then that when it comes to his online political campaign he’s such a mess. His blog hasn’t been updated since July 21st. (Could it be that he doesn’t want people to know what he’s been doing for the last six months?) His endorsements page is full of names of people who endorsed him in the special election including anti-choice crusader Dr. John Willke who is now endorsing Congresswoman Jean Schmidt.
The big question buzzing around the blogosphere is will Bob keep the deceiving page on his site after he files the proper paperwork for running for Congress so that BizzyBlog can take him to court again, this time for possibly violating § 3517.21 of the Ohio Revised Code?
Here at the Ohio 2nd blog we think it’s time for an online intervention of Mrs. Editor’s favorite 2nd District Republican (yes, it’s true… I married someone who likes Bob McEwen for some crazy reason.)
Bob, please… pull yourself together.

Are you serious about Mrs. Editor? If so this is serious and time for an intervention done with love of course. Or you could do it the cheap old fashion way and say what’s the matter with you (may be accompanied by a love pat on the head)! Maybe Mrs. Editor could elaborate on why in the world she likes McEwan.

OK… this is probably going to be a whole thread of it’s own.
If you go back and read posts on the special election primary you’ll see that one slip out from my beloved Mrs. E. When she first hit me with that one I almost fell out of my seat. I’ll let her even try to justify that one.

I’m sorry yall can talk about McEwen all you want to but during the special election Bob McEwen was old school-large and in charge. He had the supporters who were so enthusiastic about him my curiosity was raised. Not anyone can motivate people like that. DeWine’s people didn’t have that. Schmidt’s few people …were just that..few and not enthused at all.
McEwen emulated power. He looked like he knew where to go to get things done. He knows how to play the game. He was in control, stood his ground, said what he needed to say with minimal BS. He wasn’t afraid, he went out to people, looked them in the eye. No one was holding his hand or screening who could approach him. He didn’t run from anyone who wanted to talk to him. I, personally, don’t think the whole check bouncing thing was that big of deal seeing as it was standard practice for EVERYONE. He was just silly enough admit it.
Now I’m not saying I’d vote for him. Like I said at the time I would of leaned more toward Minnemyer. That primary was not a landslide (and pretty questionable if you ask me). I’m just sayin the man is not a lightweight and you all are underestimating his appeal. If I were a Republican and had to chose between McEwen and Schmidt…Bobby wins. Party aside- the man has in’s no one else does. He knows the ropes better than anyone else. Truth be told alot of people probably owe him alot of favors…now if he’s going to use that to benefit my district…. That’s alot of checkmarks in the yes column that are hard to beat.

Yeah, but you’re just falling for the con. Even if he was the greatest guy in the world, your still voting for the GOP line: no choice, pointless wars, huge deficits, etc etc etc. The idea that you could think for voting for ANY Republican especially a huckster like McEwen is insane.

I’m not falling for anything. I see the man for what he is. I’m just saying its a good game he’s playing and you’re smokin if you think it doesnt work.
You guys want to perpetuate that “fear” and I’m not buying it anymore. Most people, politicans included, are not one extreme or the other. That’s like saying all black people like fried chicken.
And just what is the DNC line?: We would if we could, if you dont mind, may I have another mistress.

McEwen is also the Ohio Restoration Project’s #2 pet candidate, right after Blackwell. Go to their website and check out “events.” Virtually every single event features ORP president Russell “you’re all secular jihadists” Johnson, Blackwell and McEwen. They are Siamese triplets in the service of Jeeeeeesuuuuus Christ! Dangerous.

Mrs. Editor’s open analytical mind, and her ability to rise above partisanship to consider what may be in the best interest of the People and not just the Party, is highly admirable.
Paradoxical perhaps, but when enough Democrats develop this mindset the Party will regain positions of power.

Yes….paradoxical very good word.
I’m just really frustrated babydoll. I threw my lot in with this team and dammit I expect results. I demand more from my team.
