One thing that Democrats interested in the 2nd might want to study from the history books is Ron Lewis’s upset victory over State Democratic chairman Joe Prather in the Kentucky 2nd special to take over the seat vacated by the death of William Natcher. The victory in the heavily Democratic district ended up being a precursor to Newt Gingrich’s take over of the House in the fall. (hat tip)

Now the question is will Democrats expend the same kind of energy on a “lost cause” like the 2nd district as Gingrich and Dole did back in 1994? Signs point to yes. (via Bring Ohio Home)
