I see that Democratic Candidate Paul Hackett’s website has launched.
It’s a well done site. The only major thing that is missing is a syndication feed. (The power of blogs is really the power of content syndication.) His site lists one in the source, but it isn’t working
So far I think that only Bouncing Bob is blogging this race.
His views on Iraq and the pictures of his service there are very moving. It’s really hard to argue with someone who’s actually been there and done that. Too bad we’re not going to get any meaningful discussion about the situation in Iraq from the Republicans.
Two things that I would love to see fleshed out by any progressive candidate:
- War profiteers. I would love to see some serious barnstorming ala Harry Truman on the billions stolen and wasted in Iraq. It is criminal what is happening over there while are soldiers aren’t supplied with basic things like body armor.
- International Involvement. John Kerry was right about getting the rest of the world behind restoring peace to Iraq. That means the US eating a little humble pie and actually asking for help. I don’t know about you, but when it comes to life and death issues about the people I love, I am not too proud to beg. It all hinges around Russian and EU oil contracts. They what a slice of the big moolah pie as in the good ol’ Saddam days and we been unwilling willing to give it to them. Thus our troops die.
